Mahesh Babu’s innings as a lead hero started 15 years ago on this day, with the release of his film ‘Rajakumarudu’. That movie released in 1999 and introduced one of the most handsome actors of this generation to TFI.
Over the course of the next 15 years, Mahesh Babu firmly established himself as a bankable star, and grew out of his Superstar father’s shadow. Films like ‘Okkadu’, ‘Athadu’ and ‘ Muraari’ brought out the actor in Mahesh but it was ‘Pokiri’ that transformed him into Superstar Mahesh from Prince Mahesh Babu .
A few lean years followed after Pokiri but Mahesh Babu reinvented himself with stylish looks and high profile brand endorsements. In 2011, Dookudu came out and went on to become one of the most commercially successful Telugu Films of all time. Tremendous success followed in the form of Business Man and SVSC.
Though his last film, ’1- Nenokkadine’ was a commercial disappointment, Mahesh Babu is now raring to score a hit with ‘Aagadu’ which is currently under production.
